12-hour shifts, 9 a.m. – 9:30 p.m.
Summary As a Phlebotomist, you will put patients at ease while collecting specimens and ensure that all patient information is accurate and meets system compliance standards.
Responsibilities
Data Entry & Reporting: Use the Laboratory Information System (LIS) to enter client information; manually confirm the identity of patients and document essential information to complete procurement, processing, and testing of specimens.
Specimen Collection: Execute venipuncture procedure including heel stick and finger stick techniques for the procurement of blood specimens; perform the essential functions necessary to maintain the integrity of the specimens for testing; train new employees or staff on phlebotomy procedures.
Patient Care: Greet and assist patients to provide general information; communicate with patients for information exchange to ensure accuracy, when necessary.
Required Qualifications
Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
Basic keyboard/Data entry skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Certificate in Phlebotomy.
Previous phlebotomy experience.
Physical Requirements M – Medium Work – Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
