Responsibilities

Assist in scientific investigations as directed by the department.

Independently conduct assigned experiments using molecular, cellular, and biological techniques such as PCR, gel electrophoresis, cell culture, Northern/Western blotting, and other assays.

Sort and process tissues, execute routine animal procedures, and evaluate current procedures.

Record, consolidate, and help interpret research results; summarize data for grant proposals, manuscripts, and other publications.

Assist principal investigators with drafting publications, posters, and abstracts and conduct literature review for requested topics.

Maintain accurate laboratory records and supervise training of junior staff, undergraduate and graduate students.

Set up and maintain laboratory equipment; monitor supplies, inventory, and initiate procurement requests as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field.

Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience with a high school diploma or GED; 2 years with an associate’s degree; or no prior experience with a bachelor’s degree.

Ability to translate, adapt, and apply academic or practical knowledge in biological/health science research.
