The Speech Language Pathologist examines and evaluates patients, developing effective treatment plans appropriate for the patient condition. They measure patient progress, modify treatment plans, and educate the patient to produce optimal outcomes. Qualifications
Age of Patients Served: All Age Groups Required Education: Master's Degree Necessary Skills: Knowledge of Speech Language Pathology theory, procedures, practices, and equipment Good communication skills; proactive, positive approach to problem solving Thorough knowledge of hazards, precautions, and remedial actions in patient care Ability to assess and implement treatment programs for simple and complex diagnoses Computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Required Licensure/Certifications: Current Florida license as Speech-Language Pathologist BLS from the American Heart Association Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA (required at hire or transfer) Preferred Experience and Education
Experience in Video Swallow Studies, Speaking Valve, Voice Prosthesis, FEES (preferred) Master’s degree in Speech and Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders Experience
Less than one year of clinical experience in the area of job opening (e.g., Acute care, Outpatient, SNF). Experience obtained during fellowship applies. Additional Details
