Overview
The Perioperative RN provides independent and routine/nursing care in a high‑volume surgical setting. The role supports the entire peri‑operative continuum, including Pre‑Op, PACU, and Recovery, while maintaining proficiency in all critical peri‑operative nursing protocols. Responsibilities
Deliver comprehensive peri‑operative patient care utilizing the full nursing process. Apply evidence‑based practices for pharmacologic, non‑pharmacologic, and procedural interventions. Evaluate psychological, social, and cultural needs of patients and families. Document nursing history, assessment, plan, intervention, and evaluation in the electronic medical record. Educate patients, families, and caregivers on peri‑operative concepts and post‑operative recovery. Job Requirements
Education/Skills Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred. Experience 1 year of peri‑operative experience preferred. Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications BLS required. RN licensure in the state of employment (or compact). Position Requirements
Education/Skills New RN orientation within 30 days of hire. Precepting by a trained staff member and approval of peri‑operative competency validation. Completion of all annual competency verification requirements. Experience Preferred: Perioperative RN residency or recent practice in an OR setting. Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications ACLS required. PALS or ENPC required. Work Schedule
PRN. Per diem, as needed.
