This position is for a fellowship-trained, board-certified Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgeon to join Dignity Health at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center. The role involves providing surgical oncology care, participating in multidisciplinary cancer programs, clinical trials, teaching, and contributing to quality and performance initiatives. The surgeon will work collaboratively within an academic and clinical setting dedicated to delivering high-quality, compassionate care for patients in Phoenix and rural Arizona. Job Responsibilities

Provide surgical oncology care as a fellowship-trained, board-certified Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgeon. Participate in multidisciplinary cancer programs and tumor boards; advance clinical trials and teaching; contribute to quality and performance improvement initiatives. Develop and foster HPB Surgery, Surgical Oncology, and the Digestive Disease Institute (DDI) in coordination with the Chief of Surgical Oncology and the Chair of Surgery. Facilitate growth of appropriate clinical trials and support DHCI, DHMG, SJHMC, and CommonSpirit Health goals and standards. Engage in recruitment and hiring of team members as needed. Fellowship-trained and Board Certified Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills Evidence of a successful clinical practice Teaching and clinical trial experience Focus on quality and standards of care Works collaboratively with other specialties Dedicated to delivering high quality, compassionate care for patients in Phoenix and rural Arizona Must have or be eligible for an unrestricted Arizona State medical licensure Ability to achieve full and unrestricted hospital/surgical privileges at Dignity Health Arizona hospitals Acceptable references from supervisor, peer, subordinate, a registered nurse, and potentially a research mentor Willing to abide by and promote the Mission, Vision and Values of CommonSpirit Health Where You'll Work

The Dignity Health Cancer Institute is a 10-year-old, 220,000 sq ft outpatient oncology facility located on the Phoenix Biomedical Campus, near St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center. The Campus hosts universities and biomedical organizations and offers comprehensive oncology services including disease-site specialists for Breast, GYN, GI, HPB, GU, Thoracic, Head & Neck, Melanoma & Soft Tissue Sarcoma, and Supportive Care/Survivorship services. Services also include Infusion, Radiation, Diagnostic Imaging, Interventional Radiology, Endoscopy, Genetic Counseling, Social Work, Clinical Nutrition, and Sexual Health after Cancer services.
