Department:
Tiger Flex is a cluster‑based role. Each cluster includes multiple units/departments, and Tiger Flex RNs float between all units/departments within their assigned cluster(s). The primary unit for this posting is Labor and Delivery.
Compensation:
Earning potential is $71–$89 per hour after orientation
Base pay:
$56 per hour
Automatic Tiger Flex differential:
$15 per hour after orientation
Plus (as applicable):
Shift differentials: $2.75 per hour for evening shift, $9.00 per hour for night shift, $3.00 per hour for weekend shift. Compounding: weekend nights $12 per hour.
Cluster differentials (determined during interview based on experience and departmental need): no differential for one cluster; $4.00 per hour for two clusters; $5.00 per hour for three clusters; $6.00 per hour for four clusters.

About the Job We’re looking for nurses to join our Tiger Flex Program—a contract‑based nursing program offering the perks of travel nursing without the travel.
This position is responsible for delivering exceptional nursing care to patients by utilizing strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status, implement clinical nursing interventions, modify symptoms, and develop and implement patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes and ensure a safe, therapeutic environment.
The role requires the ability to float to designated nursing unit clusters or shifts to meet staffing needs. Nurses may access and administer medications within their scope of practice and according to state law.
Tiger Flex Details (full details in HR‑5043)
Full‑time Tiger Flex (non‑benefit eligible): contracted Tiger Flex nurse within Staffing Support Services, 36 hours per week. Must work two shifts every other weekend and at least 50% of holidays within the 12‑week contract.
Current full‑time employees must meet the Float Pool Qualifying Period (1 year or more) to join the program.
MUHC RN internal transfers may not return to their home department within 12 months of entering the Tiger Flex Program.
Reward: A Tiger Flex nurse who commits to working as a full‑time benefits eligible Staff Nurse at MU Health Care will receive a $2,500 reward paid in four equal installments of $625, payable effective the 2nd pay period after beginning full‑time employment. Receipt of a separate Sign‑On Incentive renders the employee ineligible for this reward.

Detailed Job Description
Assess patient condition and nursing needs, set goals, and prescribe appropriate nursing actions to meet those goals and address the physical, psychological, social, and rehabilitative needs of the patient, including discharge planning.
Assess, intervene, and reassess patient’s self‑report/symptoms of pain promptly, using an appropriate tool.
Demonstrate an understanding of medications regarding action and side effects; report pertinent information and educate patients and caregivers.
Evaluate effectiveness of nursing interventions in achieving goals and intended patient care outcomes.
Maintain standards of nursing care and implement policies and procedures of the hospital and assigned unit.
Participate in meetings, in‑services, and quality and performance improvement groups.
Report pertinent observations and reactions regarding patients to appropriate persons and record them accurately and concisely.
Provide quality care and work with multidisciplinary team to ensure highest patient satisfaction.
May complete unit/department‑specific duties as outlined in department documents.
Required Qualifications Missouri Board of Nursing RN or Nurse Licensure Compact multi‑state RN. When primary state of residency changes, compact state RNs must apply under new state of residency within thirty (30) days.
One year of acute care RN experience.
Preferred Qualifications Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
Physical Demands The role is very active and requires ambulating, reaching, and moving objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs. It also routinely involves contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses. This position is in a health care facility open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Rotating shifts, holiday work, and work during inclement weather will be required.
