Mixlab, the fast‑growing veterinary compounding pharmacy, is hiring a Compounding Pharmacist for our Milwaukee pharmacy. We are looking for a Pharmacist who is obsessed with details and is driven by an ability to #makeithappen for our customers and their furry (and scaly!) friends no matter what. You will be an integral part in helping us to ensure our Wisconsin operations run smoothly, and to make Mixlab a 100% dependable resource for our customers and veterinarians alike.

This is a full‑time position. Working hours are Monday‑Friday: 10 AM – 5:30 PM CST. Scheduled shifts may begin earlier or extend later based on the needs of the pharmacy.

Responsibilities

Follow applicable Standard Operating Procedures and ensure that compounding practices meet all regulatory requirements.

Perform non‑sterile compounding—including capsules, oral liquids, topical medications, otic preparations, and medicated treats—using hormones and other potentially hazardous chemicals as required.

Maintain meticulous attention to detail; standards for accuracy and potency must be consistently met.

Supervise pharmacy technicians who assist with compounding, packaging, labeling, and pre‑packaging of bulk medications.

Conduct compounding tasks (weighing and measuring all chemicals), order entry, and communication with internal departments to clarify prescriptions and update orders.

Monitor inventory levels and reorder low or expiring chemicals; receive new inventory, maintain SDS and Certificates of Analysis, and oversee annual inventories.

Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning is performed using appropriate agents and techniques.

Manage environmental monitoring and competency assessment testing in partnership with the pharmacy team.

Answer workflow and pharmacy questions, guide technicians and pharmacy associates in daily tasks, and uphold Mixlab values.

Ensure timely communication and own corrective actions from feedback during 1:1 meetings with your direct supervisor.

Provide guidance as a subject‑matter expert to internal teams on processing, compounding, and clinical solutions.

Enforce robust quality‑assurance processes among technician staff.

Perform all Main Pharmacist tasks as needed, including entering prescriptions into compounding software, filling prescriptions, and validating orders for correctness and appropriate shipping.
