Job Summary This position can be based in Little Rock or one of the Regional Clinics.
The Clinical Services Manager (CSM) is responsible for oversight of the Care Management nursing personnel, administering patient services, serving as a nurse, acting as liaison between physicians and nurses, and serving on various committees. Provides guidance and direction to nurses and coworkers to ensure smooth processes, quality, and excellent customer service. The duties of the CSM contribute to the effort to further the mission of UAMS: To improve the health and health care of Arkansans.
Responsibilities
Provides oversight that ensures processes for hiring, onboarding, training, developing, and evaluating providers and staff members within the service line to ensure a highly competent workforce.
Engages all staff in learning the importance of clinical research, which leads to better patient outcomes.
Engages all staff to participate in clinical research activities pertinent to their job duties.
Ensures all patient-family-centered care principles are fully implemented throughout the clinical setting, including service recovery processes to address complaints and incidents for patients, families, and visitors.
Enhances operational effectiveness through service-line improvement projects, using solid data and analytics that directly impact key metrics for people, service, growth, margin, and quality.
Accountable to outcomes that will include measurable targets for patient quality, satisfaction, clinical metrics, employee satisfaction, workforce indicators (turnover, vacancy, advancement), etc.
Ensures operations are consistent with the overall direction, goals, and focus of the program to include timely response to regulatory agency audit requests, and verifying that required regulatory forms are submitted on time.
Work closely with the cardiovascular sciences medical director.
Drives a consistent, system-wide service line approach across all facilities in conjunction with processes and standards set by the Institution’s Leadership.
Ensure efficient business operations (including process improvement) of all aspects of the service line to facilitate patient access, expense management, productivity, patient safety, and patient & family-centered care.
Recruits and retains qualified individuals who possess the competencies to achieve high levels of performance.
Ensure adequate staffing to create a safe, effective, and efficient work unit. Manage performance to meet established standards, including but not limited to financial, quality, staffing, service, and safety.
Utilize a system-based approach to identify, address, improve, and resolve any operational or performance issues or gaps.
Functions as an effective and productive member of the leadership team by actively contributing to overall strategic planning, vision, and mission implementation for the Service Line.
Provides broad leadership and ensures success at all levels of the Service Line.
Demonstrates effective communication and participative leadership characteristics.
Role model for positive multidisciplinary collaboration and interaction with colleagues, management team, and ancillary services.
Promotes and models positive multidisciplinary collaboration and interaction with colleagues, the management team, and ancillary services.
Builds and sustains a team-oriented, positive, problem-solving, collaborative organizational culture that is principle-centered and guided by shared values for excellence together.
Plans operational and capital expense budgets.
Reviews the fiscal performance of all cost centers, satellite offices, diagnostic services, and other ancillary services.
Takes an active role with value analysis and as appropriate services on teams that reduce cost without sacrificing care.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program with a Bachelor's in Nursing, with at least 5 years of experience in nursing and at least 3 of those years in a supervisory capacity
Current Valid Registered Nurse License in the State of Arkansas.
Current BLS certification or must successfully obtain certification within the first 30 days of employment.
Preferred Qualifications
2 years of Care Management experience
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree
Ambulatory clinic experience
National Nursing Certification
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong organizational and leadership skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance
Proficient in using healthcare software and databases

Salary Commensurate with education and experience.
