Job Responsibilities
Perform basic and critical respiratory care services.
Work well without supervision and supervise others as delegated.
Provide respiratory care services for adult and geriatric patients with respiratory disease.
Complete paperwork, electronic medical records, flow sheets, and charges for each patient.
Administer aerosol and oxygen therapy, maintain charts, and draw arterial blood gases per policy and physician order.
Provide care to ventilator patients, assist in department record keeping, train, and supervise new employees.
Perform pulmonary function tests, drainage procedures, and provide care for cardio‑respiratory disease.
Make rounds, check equipment, ensure ventilator bundle and VAP bundle compliance, and maintain ventilator bundle orders.
Assist with equipment maintenance, processing, and re‑ordering parts.
Serve as a knowledge resource to physicians and staff for respiratory care technical aspects.
Assist in staffing, quality control, scheduling, and competencies.
Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (preferred).
Master’s degree (preferred).
Three years of technical experience (preferred).
Licenses and Certifications
Registered Respiratory Therapist (NBRC‑RRT) credential or Certified Respiratory Therapist (NBRC‑CRT) credential (required in CA, OR, HI).
Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license (required in CA).
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS, HS‑BLS, or RQIBLS) certification (required).
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification (preferred).
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS, HS‑ACLS, or RQIACLS) certification (required).
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS, HS‑PALS, or RQIPALS) certification (preferred).
Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS) certification (preferred).
Facility Specific Licenses/Certifications
Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) – required.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS, HS‑PALS, or RQIPALS) – required.
