Responsibilities
Prepare patients for treatment, ensuring their comfort. Select and set up instruments, equipment, and materials needed. Sterilize instruments according to regulations. Assist the dentist with 4‑handed dentistry. Undertake laboratory tasks as instructed. Provide oral hygiene education and post‑operative care instructions. Maintain a clean and well‑stocked dental room. Maintain accurate patient records and assist with payment processing. Skills
Proven experience as a dental assistant. Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods. Understanding of health & safety regulations. Ability to perform regulated non‑surgical tasks such as coronal polishing (a plus). Good computer skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Attention to detail. Well‑organized and reliable. High school diploma; completion of a dental assistant program preferred. Additional certification or training is an asset (e.g., EFDA). Requirements
Current Minnesota Dental Assistant License (LDA). Strong understanding of sterilization protocols, OSHA/CDC standards, and dental instruments. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, especially with young patients and families. Organized, flexible, and able to adapt in a fast‑moving environment. Positive energy and a team‑first attitude. Additional Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; graduation from an accredited dental assistant program preferred. Additional certifications (e.g., coronal polishing, EFDA) are a plus. Proficiency in dental software and digital X‑ray systems. Seniority level
