Job Description Spring 2026 Nurse Residency Cohorts (February through May cohort start dates).
Residencies are offered at Carrollwood, Connerton, North Pinellas, Riverview, Tampa, Wesley Chapel, and Land O’ Lakes.
Responsibilities
Apply nursing knowledge and skills to all diagnoses, procedures, medications, complications, and equipment for the unit patient population.
Follow strict infection prevention precautions, ensure medication safety, and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team.
Participate in practice changes, process improvement initiatives, and completion of all required education.
Support quality standards and initiatives set by the department, exhibiting a desire to learn, teach, mentor, and advance nursing skills.
Complete timely assessments including physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors; make appropriate decisions and implement interventions based on nursing diagnoses.
Set measurable, short and long‑range goals for patients, develop and implement individualized plans of care, and prioritize follow‑up assessments.
Promote an exceptional patient experience through effective communication with patients, families, and visitors, including hourly rounding.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Associate's of Nursing (Required)
Bachelor's of Nursing (Preferred)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – RQI Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI RQI)
Basic Life Support (BLS) – CPR Cert (BLS) – RQI Resuscitation Quality Improvement
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – EV Accredited Issuing Body
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – RQI Resuscitation Quality Improvement
Registered Nurse (RN) – EV Accredited Issuing Body
