Job Description Sign-on bonus: $2500

This role requires availability during evenings and weekends. Daily pay is available to hourly team members. Pay range: $20-23/hr.

You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and function as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations.

About the role You will determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable test results. The Medical Support Specialist works under the guidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager) for operational guidance and under the Center Physician for medical issues. The role requires familiarity with plasma collection regulations or a manufacturing environment and follows guidance from BioLife Medical Affairs, providing center-level support of environmental, health and safety (EHS).

How you will contribute

Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and review of SPE.

Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs and manage medical emergencies following applicable SOPs and Center Physician standing orders, including donor transport to emergency facilities.

Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.

Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.

Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation by occupational health/ER is required; refer to EHS guidance on incidents.

Potential Pandemic Coordinator duties when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats within the local community as indicated by EHS or Medical Affairs.

What you bring to Takeda

High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited nursing program with state requirements is preferred

Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned (e.g., EMT-Paramedic)

Current CPR and AED certification

Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy (in state of licensure)

Satisfactorily complete FDA-approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist

Two years in a clinical or hospital setting

BioLife Compensation and Benefits Location: USA - TX - Longview

U.S. Hourly Wage Range: $23.85 – $32.79

The estimated hourly wage range reflects an anticipated range for this position. Actual pay offered will depend on factors including qualifications, experience, skills, and location. Payroll, state/local minimum wage, and regulatory requirements apply.
