Physical Therapist – Nemours Children’s Health
Full‑time position located in Orlando, Florida.
Job Description We are seeking a Physical Therapist to join our Nemours Children’s Health team in Orlando, Florida. The role is full‑time, based in our outpatient hospital‑based pediatric setting with cross coverage in acute care and inpatient rehabilitation. The caseload includes neurodevelopmental pediatrics and orthopedic/sports medicine.
Location: Nemours Children’s Hospital, Orlando, FL – a 130‑bed pediatric hospital with a 24‑hour children’s emergency department and outpatient pediatric clinics.
Responsibilities
Provide physical therapy evaluation, treatment, and consultation under a physician’s prescription.
Demonstrate competency in pediatric PT for patients ages birth to 21 years, including neonates as needed.
Maintain documentation in accordance with departmental policy, The Joint Commission, and CARF standards.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team, attend patient‑treatment meetings, and participate in quality improvement.
Engage in staff development, peer review, and mentoring of students, new staff, and volunteers.
Stay current with trends, research, and continuing education in PT.
Develop and promote programs, participate in community events, and provide outreach to professionals.
Ensure understanding of insurance referral/authorization processes and documentation requirements.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy (or higher).
Minimum of 3 months PT experience; new graduates considered based on education.
Florida state license to practice physical therapy.
American Heart Association BLS certification upon hire.
Member of APTA/FPTA preferred.
Prior pediatric PT experience preferred.
Availability for weekend shifts.
