Base pay range: $23.94/hr - $23.94/hr
Responsibilities
Will be assigned to an area (ER or OR) and will perform portable imaging for adults and geriatric patients.
Explain examination procedures to patients and prepare them for imaging.
Review clinical requisition and medical history before performing imaging.
Set up equipment, position patients, and obtain diagnostic images while minimizing radiation exposure.
Monitor patients for reactions to contrast media, administer contrast when required, and provide immediate care if necessary.
Use shielding, adjust equipment settings, and apply ALARA techniques to reduce dose.
Prepare sterile equipment and supplies, maintain inventory, and follow infection control practices.
Document image-related data in the medical record and the radiology information system.
Assist in teaching new hires and maintaining own responsibilities.
Resolve image exceptions in PACS and complete study indexing in RIS.
Follow clinical protocols, communicate with the radiologist, and demonstrate professionalism.
Schedule
Hours: 6:30 am – 3:00 pm every other weekend.
Shifts: Monday‑Friday and every other weekend.
Potential flexibility with hours.
On‑Call: No
Block Scheduling: No
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of experience.
Level I or II trauma experience in the operating room.
Proficiency with GE, Carestream, OEC C‑Arms, and Cerner systems.
Ability to work in epic (no).
Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technicians (ARRT).
Healthcare Provider certification required (BCLS).
Valid license/registration as required by state regulations.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions
Work in a fixed hospital unit or mobile unit in IPD/OR/ER.
Potential exposure to radiation, high‑voltage equipment, and contagious patients.
Occasional lifting and moving of equipment or patients exceeding 10 lbs.
Education & Experience
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Maintain required hours of continued education.
