Job Title : RN Procedures - Women's - Full-Time
Location : Erlanger Health System, Chattanooga, TN
Job Summary A registered professional nurse employed by Erlanger Health System is responsible for direct and/or indirect care of patients under the supervision of a physician. The procedure nurse closely monitors patients before, during, and after invasive and noninvasive procedures. The nurse coordinates procedure time and scheduling, performs assessments, starts IVs, administers medications, draws lab work, takes patient history, and conducts patient assessments. When not in the procedure area, the nurse assists providers and staff in the department with patient care tasks or other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
Direct and/or indirect patient care under physician supervision.
Coordinate procedure time and scheduling.
Perform initial and ongoing assessments for patient needs.
Start IVs, administer medications, draw labs, take patient history.
Recognize risks and complications related to procedures.
Assist providers and staff in patient care tasks when not in procedure area.
Education
Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
Preferred Education
N/A
Experience
Knowledge of general nursing principles and practice skills.
Knowledge of organizational functions, policies and regulations.
Knowledge of current trends and new developments.
Knowledge of principles and practices of nursing applicable to areas requiring special education.
Preferred Experience
1-2 years of surgical specialty procedures.
License/Certification/Registration
Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Tennessee.
BLS completed prior to going to unit/department and maintained going forward.
Preferred Certification
ACLS.

Note: The Nurse Licensure Compact will not change how to obtain or renew a Tennessee license. Tennessee license will be a single state license for Tennessee Residents or non‑compact state residents. Tennessee licensure or multistate licensure from a compact state must be obtained within three months of hire for non‑Tennessee residents.
