Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a PRN Mammography Technologist to support our Breast Imaging Department at Baylor Scott & White Austin Oak Hill Medical Center. This role is ideal for a mammography technologist looking for maximum schedule flexibility, with opportunities to cover weekday, evening, and weekend shifts based on department needs.
As a Mammography Technologist, you will provide high-quality breast imaging services in a supportive, patient-centered environment while maintaining compliance with MQSA and safety standards.
What You’ll Do
Perform screening and diagnostic mammography exams according to established protocols and MQSA guidelines.
Ensure accurate patient positioning, compression, exposure, and image quality for diagnostic interpretation.
Communicate compassionately using AIDET principles, particularly during sensitive breast imaging exams.
Prepare patients and equipment for procedures, ensuring comfort, safety, and dignity.
Follow all radiation safety, infection control, and sterile technique policies.
Maintain mammography equipment, perform routine quality control, and report technical issues promptly.
Verify exam orders, patient history, pregnancy screening, and required documentation.
Upload and manage imaging studies in PACS and EMR systems in accordance with departmental workflows.
Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and imaging staff to support efficient patient flow.
Serve as a resource or preceptor for new technologists as needed.

Strong understanding of breast anatomy, positioning techniques, and MQSA standards.
Ability to adapt to a highly flexible PRN schedule, including weekdays and weekends.

Qualifications
Education: Graduate of an Accredited Radiologic Technology Program
Experience: Less than 1 year required; mammography experience preferred
Certification / Licensure:
ARRT (M) – Mammography
ARRT (R) – Radiography
Licensed by the Texas Medical Board (TMB) as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT)
BLS Certification (within 30 days of hire)
