This project serves the entire Greater Boston Area. $26.00 – $28.00 STARTING PAY OPERATING SERVICE FOR MBTA’S THE RIDE PAID WEEKLY URGENTLY HIRING DRIVERS – NON-CDL – PUBLIC TRANPORT VANS AND SEDANS
CLASSES START WEEKLY HEALTH, BENEFITS, AND 401K ROOM FOR ADVANCEMENT UNIFORMS PROVIDED UNION SHOP (TEAMSTERS 25) ADDITIONAL BENEFITS PROVIDED *Locations in both Hyde Park and Quincy, as eligible by open shifts* Requirements Include:
Must be at least 18 years of age – with 2 Years of Driving Experience. Must be able to maintain driver’s license to be able to operate company vehicles. (MA or adjoining state required). Must be able to obtain/maintain a DOT Medical Card. Subject to DOT regulated drug testing. Subject to criminal background requirements as defined by contract. Completion of Training Program, which is required to certify. Paid regular retraining and mandatory safety meetings. Extensive knowledge of traffic rules and regulations. Strong communication and interpersonal skills a must. Compliance with all applicable company, federal, state, county, district, and contract specific Driver requirements. Note:
All applicants start as Trainees and once certified become assigned the role of Driver. Transit Driver Responsibilities Include:
Provides safe and reliable transportation service to passengers by operating position specific vehicles (paratransit vans and sedans). Reports any maintenance problems to Maintenance in accordance with Company procedure and does not operate an unsafe vehicle. Reports on time and fit for duty. Physically assists passengers in evacuation of the vehicle in case of emergency. Immediately reports any accident or incident per Company policy. Exercises passenger management per Company policy. Informs all appropriate personnel of problems/procedures. Keeps the interior of the assigned vehicle clean and presentable. Presents a neat and professional personal appearance at all times. Ensures vehicle is properly fueled according to facility procedures. Completes all required paperwork and submits in a timely manner. Must collaborate with coworkers and maintain professionalism. Prepares vehicle for inclement weather conditions, including scraping or cleaning windows. Safely and efficiently utilizes vehicle equipment, including wheelchair lifts, radios and emergency equipment. Other duties as assigned. Additional responsibilities for our Paratransit Drivers may apply per location requirements and include but are not limited to: Transporting senior and/or disabled citizens in accordance with pre-arranged appointments/schedules preferred. Must be able to provide individualized assistance/accommodation in accordance with location policy. Previous experience as a Paratransit Driver preferred. We Offer
