We are seeking a highly skilled and results-driven
Procurement Manager
to lead and optimize our procurement operations, with a strong focus on
freight supplier sourcing and management , particularly within the trucking sector. This role plays a strategic part in driving cost efficiency, ensuring supply chain reliability, and building long-term, high-performing supplier partnerships.
The ideal candidate brings solid experience in
freight procurement , end-to-end sourcing processes, and supplier performance management, with the ability to negotiate competitive agreements while maintaining service excellence and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and oversee the full procurement function, developing and executing procurement strategies aligned with business objectives, cost optimization, and supply chain resilience.
Manage freight supplier sourcing initiatives, with a primary focus on trucking providers, identifying, evaluating, and onboarding reliable and cost-effective partners.
Assess and validate supplier capabilities, including operational capacity, service quality, safety records, regulatory compliance, and financial stability.
Lead negotiations with freight and trucking suppliers on pricing, terms, contracts, and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to secure optimal commercial conditions.
Review, negotiate, and finalize procurement contracts, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal policy requirements while mitigating commercial and operational risks.
Establish and manage supplier performance evaluation frameworks, monitoring KPIs such as on-time delivery, service quality, cost adherence, and issue resolution.
Collaborate cross-functionally with logistics, operations, finance, and other internal stakeholders to align procurement strategies with operational needs and resolve supply chain challenges.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement documentation, including supplier databases, contracts, negotiation records, and performance reports.
Monitor market trends, industry best practices, and regulatory developments in freight and trucking procurement to identify improvement opportunities and drive continuous optimization.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of
5 years of progressive procurement experience , with demonstrated expertise in
freight sourcing and trucking procurement .
Strong experience in freight supplier management, including supplier identification, evaluation, negotiation, contracting, and performance monitoring.
In-depth knowledge of the freight and trucking industry, including market dynamics, regulations, safety standards, and operational best practices.
Experience working in a comparable industry or logistics-intensive environment.
Knowledge of international freight procurement is a strong plus.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build long-term supplier relationships.
Proven experience in contract management, risk assessment, and compliance oversight.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to leverage data for informed procurement decisions.
Proficiency in procurement systems and tools (ERP, SRM, or similar platforms) is preferred.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
