Preferred candidates will have a strong and relevant academic, employment, and technical background. This role offers the opportunity to work on soil and groundwater assessment and remediation projects while also being exposed to other disciplines within the environmental consulting industry and will provide hands-on experience interacting with clients and contractors. We deliver environmental and sustainability services to our clients through the integration of over 30 advisory, technical environmental, and engineering disciplines to help clients address some of their most complex challenges around sustainability. We are Making Sustainability Happen.**Responsibilities*** Conduct field work for Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) with soil, groundwater and/or soil-vapor sampling* Contractor/driller oversight for monitoring well installation, soil excavation, building demolition* Coordinate long-term groundwater monitoring programs (i.e., quarterly events)* Assist with obtaining permits and public utility locate requests for environmental construction tasks.* Provide construction oversight on environmental remediation projects, operations, and maintenance of environmental remediation systems* Assist in data interpretation and preparation of site work plans, spreadsheets, figures, conceptual site models, and technical reports* Be engaged with the company’s Health & Safety program* Effectively communicate with Project Managers, subcontractors, regulatory agents, tenants, and clients during field activities* Work within quality/budget/schedule expectations and scope-specific assignments**Working @ SLR**With us, there is no doubt you’ll grow your subject-matter expertise and industry knowledge. Final agreed upon compensation will be commensurate with individual education, professional designation, experience, internal parity, and location.* Full-time, permanent role with opportunities for professional growth and advancement**Required Qualifications*** Bachelor’s Degree in Geology, Environmental Science or related field* 2-4 years of experience with soil and groundwater assessment and remediation* Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite* Possess a valid driver’s license* Ability to travel by airplane and car, including overnight travel for extended periods* Ability to perform physical work in harsh weather conditions* Job duties performed on-site* OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification**Desired Qualifications*** Certified Erosion Sediment Control Lead (CESCL)* Washington UST/AST Site Assessment certification* Professional Geologist (PG) or Geologist-in-Training (GIT) in Oregon and Washington**Technical Skills and Experience*** Soil classification and borehole logging; well design & construction* Understanding of contaminant fate & transport concepts and conceptual site models* Sampling of environmental media, including: soil, groundwater, air, and soil-vapor* Experience with mechanical and electrical troubleshooting of remediation systems* Experience in technical writing and development of technical documents**Personal Attributes and Traits*** Superior communication and writing skills* Professional and dependable work ethic* Ability to effectively prioritize work and contribute to project teams* Excellent time management and problem-solving skills**Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) are at the core of who we are and want to be.**SLR is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity / Affirmative Action Employer.
