Assistant Professor – Allied Health Sciences
Grand Rapids, MI (Health Campus) – 9‑month, full‑time, tenure‑stream contract starting August 6, 2026.
Position supports the Allied Health Sciences Program within Grand Valley State University’s School of Interdisciplinary Health and College of Health Professions.
Required Qualifications
Doctorate in a discipline relevant to the Allied Health Sciences program.
Minimum 5 years of professional experience in a health‑related discipline that provides the knowledge to teach program courses and support advanced healthcare research and innovation.
Minimum 3 years of full‑time college‑level teaching experience in multiple modalities (in‑person, hybrid, online).
Commitment to inclusion, equity, diversity, and accessibility.
Excellent communication, organizational, and self‑leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Teaching experience in Allied Health Sciences or related courses, especially in healthcare ethics, legality, and research.
Experience mentoring or advising undergraduate students.
Use of inclusive practices in courses.
Experience with advanced practice or innovative technology in healthcare settings.
Strong research agenda, including a PhD and student involvement in research.
Responsibilities
Provide instruction in program courses across multiple modalities each semester.
Lead design and delivery of selected Allied Health Sciences courses, mentoring adjuncts, and support curriculum development.
Academic advising for program students.
Participate in program development, special projects, and innovation initiatives.
Serve on committees and contribute to the School of Interdisciplinary Health and College of Health Professions.
Develop and sustain a scholarly research agenda aligned with university expectations.
Salary Commensurate with experience.
