The tasks of the Research Scientist (Postdoc) include the following:* Develop, design, and evaluate

integration

of

robust

artificial

intelligence/machine

learning

and game theory for cybersecurity and resiliency in emerging networked systems such as cyber physical systems,

internet

of

things

and

other

connected

civilian

and

military

applications

by

working independently as well as in a group setting.* Conduct fundamental research as well as experimental research, data collection, statistical analysis, and data interpretation.* Develop high impact research articles/manuscripts to be published in highly selected journals and conferences.* Perform other

related duties

and

responsibilities

as

may

be

assigned

from

time

to

time

by

the Principal Investigator, especially those related to research training and mentoring.* Coordinate and ensure development of pertinent reports and their timely delivery.* Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor/PI Dr. Danda B Rawat.**CORE COMPETENCIES:**The candidate must have his/her Ph.D. degree before joining Howard University and should have adequate research experience demonstrated through publications in top-tier international conferences or journals, or patents in the areas of cybersecurity, AI and machine learning for autonomous systems.* Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.* Demonstrated ability to conduct fundamental research and demonstrated publication record.* Related work experience or willingness to learn and work on one or more of the following areas:

cybersecurity as well as secure, trustworthy, robust, fair, explainable AI system and ML algorithms for emerging networked systems such as cyber physical systems, internet of things and connected mission critical applications.* Demonstrated programming experience and fluency in one or more programming languages/ML

Tools such as Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, MATLAB, etc.* Demonstrated computing experience and knowledge, including software packages such as LaTeX, word processing, database applications, and spreadsheet.* Competence in both oral and written English and ability to articulate concisely and in a professional manner.* Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.* Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented interdisciplinary environment.**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:**Applicants should have received a Ph.D. (or similar doctoral degree) in one of the following disciplines:
