The VP of Merchandise Planning is responsible for leading all planning processes that drive sales, margin and profitability. This person will develop and execute financial plans that align with the seasonal merchandise strategies. This person will oversee the pre-season and in-season planning of categorical sales, margin and inventory. This person will also lead the forecasting and OTB process. The VP will collaborate closely with Merchandising, Store planning and Finance. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of influencing leadership, driving efficiencies, leading a high-performing team, and applying data-driven insights to inform strategic business decisions.

Key Accountabilities

Lead all planning processes for developing merchandise strategies that support company revenue and margin objectives

Oversee all merchandise plans, inventory positions, and markdown strategies, ensuring alignment with strategic goals that maximize sales and profitability

Identify opportunities for improving processes that drive operational efficiency

Work with Merchandising and Marketing to align promotions and pricing

Work closely with Merchandising on Cost and IMU targets that reflect topline financials

Lead OTB management with team and present data to executives

Partner with Finance on sales and margin forecasts as well as inventory roll forward

Demonstrate advanced reporting proficiency, leveraging data visualization and analytics tools to translate complex performance metrics into actionable business insights

Requirements

Strong financial, analytical, problem‑solving and presentation skills

Collaborative and ability to work well within a team

Ability to work with and influence peers and management

Self‑motivated with critical attention to detail

Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and lead a productive team

Qualifications

15+ years of senior management experience in the retail industry

Demonstrated success in leading large scale strategic projects with proven results

Proven track record of driving process improvement and efficiencies

Proven track record of independently developing and leading merchandise financial strategies with an eye to top line and bottom line profitability leveraging data, insights

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to position offered and work experience.
