Our team is looking for a

Senior Process Engineer

to support the design, development, and deployment of a smart manufacturing environment. The right candidate will document the as‑is processes and where necessary recommend changes to enable the efficient production of munitions and energetics. The right candidate will elicit and document functional requirements that will improve manual processes and increase personnel safety. The right candidate will identify opportunities to insert smart manufacturing technology that drives throughput and reduces bottlenecks and waste. The Process Engineer will work across a technical team to help translate functional customer requirements to technical requirements.

Clearance:

US Citizen with the ability to obtain a Secret clearance

Location:

Remote (with routine travel to the Washington DC Metro Area)

You will be expected to:

Develop and maintain a strong rapport with the Customer and Department Leads

Document the current machine asset specifications that are in operational use

Review and document processes using UML diagrams and other techniques

Elicit and document requirements that will create a safe, traceable, and efficient smart manufacturing environment

Translate paper based traceability and safety related documents into functional requirements

Identify existing instrumentation, machine and operational data sources to help create a common operating picture of the manufacturing operations

Support the integration of new IoT devices and data sources with existing hardware and machine assets while respecting the constraints of hazardous processes and legacy machine equipment

Collaborate with the Customer Safety Team to ensure that new processes and technology meet safety standards for ordnance

Experience supporting manufacturing processes that rely on legacy equipment and manual operations, including evaluating potential upgrades while respecting safety, compliance, and operational constraints

Preferred:

Have experience working in a DoD manufacturing environment

Have experience working within an energetics or ordnance environment

Have experience in smart manufacturing environments

Experience with private 5g networks for data communication

Have a functional understanding of Rockwell ControlLogix Allen Bradley PLCs, sensors (analog and digital), and HMIs

Have experience in deployments of self-hosted (non-cloud) manufacturing systems, including 5G, IoT devices and hard-wired sensors

Required:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent military experience

5+ years in smart manufacturing

Ability to document processes and requirements

Ability to communicate well in writing and verbally with customers and stakeholders
