Human Resources Manager & Payroll
Golden Haven Care Center (99 Bed Skilled Nursing Facility)

Summary Golden Haven is seeking a full-time, exempt Payroll & Human Resources Manager to support HR and payroll operations for our 99-bed skilled nursing facility. This role partners closely with senior HR/Payroll leadership and is responsible for employee relations, payroll administration, training, performance management, onboarding, policy interpretation, recruitment, compliance, and employment law support.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities Payroll
Process accurate and timely semi-monthly and special payrolls for exempt, non-exempt, and multi-state employees, including benefits, taxes, and garnishments.
Prepare payroll-related journal entries and month-end accruals (payroll, PTO, 401(k)).
Serve as payroll point of contact; respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, timesheets, and tax forms.
Train new hires on employee self-service and timekeeping systems.
Produce and distribute payroll, compensation, and headcount reports and analysis for senior leadership.
Ensure accurate and compliant annual W-2 processing.
Complete special projects and ad hoc reporting as assigned.
Human Resources
Ensure HR policies, procedures, and reporting remain compliant with federal and state regulations.
Maintain records related to benefits, personnel actions (hires, promotions, transfers, reviews, terminations), and government reporting.
Support benefits administration (health, dental, life, etc.): employee education, enrollment, open enrollment coordination, and ongoing plan changes.
Administer leaves of absence (PDL, FMLA, CFRA, workers’ comp, personal leaves) and coordinate benefit payments.
Track and assist with 90-day and annual performance reviews.
Maintain personnel, medical/worker’s comp, and I‑9 files.
Support termination processes, including conducting exit interviews.
Conduct investigatory suspensions and assist supervisors with disciplinary actions.
Investigate employee grievances and provide recommendations for resolution.
Respond to unemployment claims, gather supporting documentation, and assist with hearing preparation and attendance.
Maintain the affirmative action program; prepare annual EEO-1 and other required reports.
Administer workers’ compensation claims, including filing, follow-up, interactive process, and accommodation review.
Manage full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, and new hire orientation.
Ensure OSHA recordkeeping and annual filings are completed accurately and on time.
Conduct HR-related trainings for supervisory and non-supervisory staff.
Participate in Manager of the Day (MOD) rotation as requested.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Preferred)
2–4 years of HR and/or payroll experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience (Required)
Bilingual English/Spanish (Preferred)
