Responsibilities
Plans, engineers, develops, tests, and implements enhancements for gas control center technical systems, ensuring high availability, resilience, and cybersecurity. Directs SCADA system architecture and related monitoring platforms to maintain a secure and dependable operational environment.
Collaborates with Operations to design and implement new system capabilities that leverage OT data for improved safety, operational insight, and predictive analytics. Develops and integrates advanced data analytics tools and platforms to transform raw OT data into actionable intelligence for decision-making.
Plans, engineers, develops, tests, and implements RTU and PLC technologies, including programming, installation, and commissioning, to achieve standardization and reliability. Directs integration of field devices with SCADA and enterprise systems, coordinating with engineering, field operations, and contractors.
Manages and oversees the efficient operation of the following functional areas within the OT matrix: Data Centers, Compute Infrastructure, Network Infrastructure (LAN and WAN), Security Infrastructure, OT Watch, Gas Control Room Support, Database Administration, and Business Continuity Planning.
Oversees the design, maintenance, and support of gas control center technical systems to maintain a highly functional, secure, and dependable operational environment.
Develops and implements disaster recovery and incident response plans for the functional area, ensuring resilience and compliance with regulatory standards.
Maintains deep knowledge of industry regulations, compliance requirements, and business practices to guide decision-making and strategic initiatives.
Defines future system requirements and leads the development of projects and programs, including budget preparation, scheduling, and execution.
Develops and monitors O&M and Capital budgets, implementing controls to ensure expenditures remain within approved parameters.
Maintains adequate staffing levels, recruits and develops talent, fosters motivation, and evaluates performance to build a high-performing technical team.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field and ten years experience in SCADA programming and systems development; or equivalent.
Requires exceptional ability to communicate verbally with internal and external audiences; must possess excellent writing skills.
Requires the ability to perform analyses involving ratios, percentages and simple statistical methods.
Requires advanced computer skills for personal computer and special applications used in the SCADA environment.
Requires occasionally performing activities including, but not limited to, driving, bending, stooping, grasping, reaching, twisting, turning and/or lifting.
Primary job responsibilities require work inside and outside the office. Requires some travel including overnight.
