Responsibilities
Responsibility For Field Party/ Data Collection
Strong Communication with PLS / Project Team
Data Organization for Office Use/Interpretation
Duties are Largely Performed in Field Setting
Field Work in Maine Weather Rain or Shine
General Equipment Maintenance/Care
Acorn’s current projects
Rural & Urban Boundary Surveying
Construction Layout
ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys
Floodplain and Watershed Restoration
Elevation Certificates
Stream Crossing/Bridge Surveys
This is an exciting opportunity to assist a small (but growing) land surveying department with a variety of tasks. Capabilities and Credentials
5 years of industry experience preferred
Strong verbal and written communications skills
Ability to follow verbal and/or written instructions, to perform tasks independently and to produce neat and accurate reports
Robust understanding of boundary evidence collection
Robust understanding of construction layout
Ability to correctly understand & perform COGO/survey calculations in field
Understanding of Carlson Software is preferred, but not necessary
Ability to collect data to client or company standards
Ability to effectively communicate with crew members, clients, & project team.
Compliance with company/site, and OSHA safety standards
Must be able to work outdoors, on busy construction sites, exposed to environmental conditions including heat, cold, precipitation and noise.
Ability to Keep Equipment/Truck in working order and communicate to manager when issues arise.
Robust knowledge of Traditional Traverse Techniques, Base and Rover GNSS Data Collection Knowledge and applications required
Knowledge of Reality Capture Data Collection Techniques and applications preferred
Ability to review and edit field data in collaboration with project team.
Basic knowledge of CAD, other Engineering/Technical skills preferred
Willingness to learn and apply new techniques
Ability to lift 50 lbs
Valid driver’s license required
