Occupational Therapist Acute Care

Location: Inova Fairfax Hospital, Falls Church, VA.
Full-time position, schedule Tuesday – Saturday.
Job Description Inova Fairfax Hospital’s acute care team is looking to add a dedicated, passionate occupational therapist to our growing team. Ideal candidate will have at least a year in an acute care setting, a team‑oriented attitude, and a passion for helping our patients.
Responsibilities
Document evaluation results clearly and completely according to department policy.
Complete daily progress notes reflecting patients’ responses to treatment, performance, and status relative to the treatment plan and eventual discharge needs.
Complete discharge notes including summary of treatment course, progress toward goals, discharge needs, recommendations and patient/family education.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, medical staff, care team members, students, supervisors and outside contacts.
Provide educational materials and methods appropriate to patients’ level of understanding and motivation.
Demonstrate essential skill competencies in the use of treatment modalities, equipment and protocols; perform re-evaluations as per department guidelines and adjust the treatment plan as needed.
Education and Credentials
Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy (Master’s Degree preferred).
BLS certified through the American Heart Association.
Virginia license required upon start.
Experience
Not required.
Preferred: at least a year in an acute care setting.
