Job Summary
Groton City Animal Hospital is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to join our team in Groton, NY. The clinic is a full-service practice providing medical, surgical, and dental care for a variety of pets including dogs, cats, horses, sheep, goats, pigs, and alpacas.
Daily Responsibilities
Assist veterinarians in medical procedures and surgeries
Monitor anesthesia and vital signs during procedures
Provide client education on pet wellness and care
Perform IV catheterization and medication administration
Perform dental cleanings and radiographs
Perform in‑house laboratory testing
Required Skills
Registered/Certified Veterinary Technician
Experience in anesthesia monitoring and catheterization
Knowledge of preventive care and internal medicine
Willingness to help in all aspects of clinic duties
Strong communication skills for client education and discharge planning
Nice to Have Skills
Experience maintaining an efficient workflow and ability to multi‑task
Laboratory experience for diagnostics and testing
Ability to triage and assist in surgical procedures
Salary and Benefits Competitive salary range of $44,780 to $57,200 per year, a 4‑day work week, and comprehensive benefits including health, life, vision insurance, 401(k), flexible schedules, health & wellness programs, vacation, sick leave, holiday pay, paid time off, pet discount, and uniform allowance.
