Description The
Staff Nurse Inpatient
reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM and adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics, Corporate Compliance Program, and all relevant policies and regulations. A clinically competent, registered professional nurse who prescribes, delegates, and coordinates nursing care to the acutely ill patient through the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. Effectively interacts with patients, families, and other health team members while maintaining ANA standards of professional nursing practice.
Responsibilities
Collect and analyze data, identify expected outcomes, develop and implement individualized plans, coordinate care delivery, and evaluate progress toward attainment of outcomes.
Direct care and determine appropriate utilization of any assistants involved in providing direct patient care.
Collaborate with patients, families, physicians, and ancillary staff; create documented plans focused on outcomes and decisions related to the delivery of services, indicating communication with patients and families.
Participate in shared governance, committee work, and unit projects.
Evaluate and document patient responses to nursing interventions in the health record and appropriately individualize the plan of care.
Utilize best available evidence, including research findings, to guide practice decisions.
Qualifications Required
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and analytical skills
Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) acceptable with commitment to obtain a BSN within three years of the first day of employment.
Preferred
Experience in specific clinical area (Emergency Room/Pediatric Emergency Room)
Trauma Nurse Specialist (TNS)
Emergency Communications Registered Nurse
Certified Pediatric Nurse
Certified Emergency Nurse
