From designing resilient highways and iconic bridges to advancing transit, passenger and freight rail, aviation, federal transportation ports and marine infrastructure, your work will directly support economic vitality, public safety, sustainable and resilient communities and quality of life.
In the role of
Civil/Structural Construction Inspector , we'll count on you to:
Conduct and document observations of construction as it progresses for transportation infrastructure, buildings, and facilities.
Conduct inspection of site civil and structural field work.
Monitor, record and inspect progress on construction projects.
Coordinate field materials sampling and testing, including concrete slump and air testing, casting concrete test cylinders, performing in‑place soil compaction testing, asphalt testing, etc.
Receive general supervision from the Senior Inspector who reviews work while in progress.
Perform other duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a comparable combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of construction inspection of major transportation/infrastructure projects for public agencies, such as PANYNJ, MTA, NJTA, and NJDOT are required.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
PE license in New York or New Jersey.
OSHA 30‑hour training.
ACI Concrete Special Inspection and ICC Structural Steel and Bolting certifications.
Preference given to local candidates.
Required Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent.
Experience in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee‑owned culture is a must.
