Responsibilities

Promotes and supports a positive work environment focused on team building and collaboration.

Provides on-call backup to the community.

Maintains confidentiality of all pertinent personal or health information concerning residents and staff.

Ensures all needs are met for the residents and advises staff on the shift.

Ensures any incident reports are completed properly and promptly.

Prepares necessary medical paperwork for all scheduled resident appointments.

Assists with compliance in meeting regulations and is available for state licensure surveys.

Maintains resident files and appropriate documents as required.

Assists medication aides and caregivers in service delivery and training as requested.

Notifies DON of any new doctors' orders and informs about medication changes.

Performs inventory management for medication administration and checks new medications from the pharmacy.

Communicates in staff communication book any information staff need to be aware of.

Assists with picking up shifts on an evenly distributed schedule among nursing staff as needed.

Reviews, edits, and creates nursing policy drafts to be reviewed by the Executive Director and/or DON.

Obtains, administers, and documents prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques and facility standards of practice.

Observes residents, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor, family, and physician of changes in condition and reactions to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.

Takes temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal and assess the condition of residents.

Keeps resident family and physician informed of any changes in resident behavior, medications, or conditions of health.

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with PointClickCare software.

Holds an active LPN or RN license.

Minimum of two years’ experience in a healthcare facility.

Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Ability to research and analyze several types of data, especially compliance and regulatory standards.

Detail-oriented with the ability to plan and carry out job tasks independently.

Must be able to exercise discretion and solid judgment.

Ability to set priorities, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and adapt efficiently to change.

Effectively communicate with all levels of employees and management.

Benefits

On-call pay – $150 flat rate per weekend.
