Water Resources Engineer
in

Typical Duties
Perform and/or conduct hydrologic analysis, hydraulic analysis, and water quality analysis of open channel and/or closed conduit stormwater collection systems for large and small-scale development projects and watersheds.
Preparation and review of one- and two-dimensional hydrologic/hydraulic models, FEMA CLOMR/LOMR applications, documents and exhibits and drainage reports.
Effectively interpret and communicate model input parameters, assumptions and results with an understanding of how to apply a level of engineering judgement to troubleshoot model anomalies.
Design site-specific best management practices (BMPs) to achieve permitting requirements including conventional, low impact development, green infrastructure and stormwater volume control BMPs.
Perform opinions of construction costs for stormwater related projects, including open/closed system drainage rehabilitation, canals and flood control structures.
Preferred – Ability to use HEC‑RAS, HEC‑HMS, ICPR, XPSWMM, ArcMap, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and MS Office.
Requirements
2+ years of experience
Understanding of hydrologic and hydraulic principles
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
EIT registration strongly preferred
Ability to obtain Professional Engineer License within one year of hire strongly preferred
Skills
Excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills
Willingness to work in a team setting with strong communication skills
Ability to learn various software programs
