Job Summary We are seeking an
Animal Care Technician I
to join our Insourcing Solutions team, located in Groton, CT.
As the
Animal Care Technician I , you will use existing SOPs and quality assurance standards to perform daily animal health observations, as well as animal husbandry and cage wash duties, to maintain quality and health of research animals.
Responsibilities
Supply food and water for research animals.
Maintain accurate records of things like animal housing, animal health and necessary supplies.
Assist with restraint, handling, and manipulation of animal species.
May become involved in the breeding and weaning procedures.
Support cage wash equipment operations and maintenance, monitoring personnel entry into various rooms, and general vivarium housekeeping, when required.
Job Qualifications To qualify for this role, candidates must have one of the following combinations of education/experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Animal Sciences, or Life Sciences, or similar field and No experience
Associate’s Degree in Animal Sciences, or Life Sciences, or similar field and 6 months experience in a laboratory animal facility
High School Diploma or GED and 1 year related experience in a laboratory animal facility
Certification/Licensure
AALAS certification at the Assistant Laboratory Animal Technician (ALAT) level preferred.
Pay Range The pay range for this position is $21‑22 per hour. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
