Department: Medicine | IM Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism

Research Technician Position

Key Responsibilities

Conduct molecular and cellular biology experiments, including immunoblotting (Western blot) and quantitative PCR (qPCR)

Maintain accurate and organized records of experimental procedures and results

Assist with general lab maintenance and inventory

Follow standard operating procedures and safety guidelines

Maintain and manage mouse colonies, including genotyping and basic husbandry

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field preferred (Master’s degree not required)

Prior hands‑on experience with mouse handling and colony maintenance is required

Experience with immunoblotting and qPCR is strongly preferred

Strong attention to detail, ability to follow protocols precisely, and good organizational skills

Effective communication and ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Location: Pelotonia Research Center (1040)
