Location: Pompano Beach, Florida Job Type: Contract Salary: $40–$42 per hour Work Hours: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM Education: Bachelor’s degree required Responsibilities
Tissue Preparation & Analysis: Perform all routine activities for preparing slides for microscopic evaluation by the pathologist, strictly adhering to established protocols. Core Histology: Expertly accession, label, and process all tissue samples. Perform routine embedding, microtomy, and prepare slides for Hematoxylin and Eosin (H&E) staining. Specialized Staining: Prepare solutions and reagents and perform required special stain procedures. May also assist with Immunohistochemistry (IHC) testing. Quality & Compliance: Strictly adhere to quality control policies, meticulously document all QC activities, and ensure compliance with CLIA, CAP, and all federal/local regulations. Lab Operations: Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting of laboratory equipment. May provide technical guidance to other lab staff. Qualifications
Bachelor of Science (BS) degree required. Must possess a current ASCP Histotechnologist (HTL) certification. Experience in a histotechnology lab environment. Preferred: Experience with automated staining equipment and/or Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Skills
