The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) works under the guidance of the Center Manager and the Center Physician to support plasma center operations. The role involves determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and supporting employee health initiatives. Responsibilities
Determine donor eligibility and obtain informed consent. Conduct medical history interviews and physical examinations for donors. Perform blood testing and review serological protein electrophoresis (SPE). Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies. Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable donor findings or medical issues. Support hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees. Manage employee incidents and coordinate occupational health evaluations. Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats. Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent, with graduate recognition of a nursing program meeting state requirements. Currently licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in the state of assignment. Current CPR and AED certification. Basic IV therapy proficiency, meeting state licensure requirements. FDA‑approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist. Minimum two years of clinical or hospital experience. Benefits
