Purpose Statement A Production Level I Associate participates as a member of a “Team” to accomplish shared goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

Communicate effectively in a group or team environment about safety and product quality.

Report all workplace safety concerns to the appropriate personnel and take corrective action when appropriate.

Promote a culture of safety and efficiency by adhering to plant safety and work rules.

Ensure fellow associates are aware of and in compliance with all safety rules.

Approach safety with a positive attitude and watch out for the wellbeing of others.

Support the plant’s 6S initiative by keeping supplies and equipment organized.

Move pallets using electric or hand pallet jacks.

Observe all safety rules and regulations.

Palletize finished cases per specifications; ensure each case is properly labeled, packaged, and sealed.

Push and pull large amounts of weight with an electric pallet jack or hand pallet jack.

Perform similar or associated duties as necessary to accomplish job objectives as assigned by the Shift Lead.

Supply packaging materials as needed.

Maintain a safe and clean work environment throughout the plant according to GMP and safety guidelines.

Ensure product meets all quality and GMP standards.

Operate processing equipment and operate mixing equipment according to established SOPs.

Portion and scale ingredients and verify process control points and product quality.

Manage work in process and assist quality assurance in obtaining samples of products.

Ensure products meet specifications (weights, temperature, etc.) set by quality assurance.

Monitor use of safety devices and equipment; maintain general housekeeping and remain alert for hazardous conditions and practices.

Make adjustments as needed to ensure quality, correct, and consistent weights.

Complete production reports as required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

High School Diploma or GED.

Basic math and computer skills; strong verbal and written communication.

One year of experience in a food processing/manufacturing/industrial environment is a plus.

Ability to listen and follow basic instructions and work routines from superiors.

Responsible for knowing and adhering to Good Manufacturing Standards.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and operating instructions.

Ability to complete reports and forms.

Ability to understand and follow safety rules and instructions.

Experience working around flour, cinnamon, and other bakery ingredients.

Frequent standing, reaching, bending, kneeling, and moving about the facility.

Comfortable working in hot and cold environments.

Experience working in high noise areas with mandatory hearing protection.

May be required to work various shifts.

Experience working with potentially hazardous chemicals and/or equipment.

Physical capability to lift 50 lbs.
