Job Description Physician will be responsible for diagnosing and treating allergy disorders and diseases of the immune system, including mast cell disorders, in both children and adults. Duties include applying the latest treatment protocols, conventional immunotherapy, monoclonal antibodies, and immunosuppressants; educating patients and family members about treatment options, prognosis, and immunologic diagnoses; counseling on dietary choices for allergies; performing laboratory procedures, skin/patch testing, and immunotherapy desensitization; coordinating care through the system‑wide electronic medical record; collaborating with the immunotherapy staff to discuss cases and provide guidance; and engaging in continuing education and training opportunities. Primary practice will be at the outpatient clinic at 538 Litchfield Street, Torrington, CT, with occasional consultations for inpatients at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, 540 Litchfield Street, Torrington, CT.
Qualifications
Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), or foreign equivalent.
Completion of a U.S. medical residency program in Internal Medicine and a U.S. fellowship program in Allergy and Immunology Medicine.
Board certification or board eligibility in Internal Medicine and in Allergy and Immunology Medicine.
Possession of or eligibility for an unrestricted Connecticut medical license.
