Behavioral Health Specialist – Hybrid – Detroit, MI
The Behavioral Health Specialist (BHS) is part of a dedicated behavioral health care team and is available for care team referrals to triage member needs, provide short-term therapeutic interventions, address the needs of members presenting with serious mental illness (SMI) or substance use disorder (SUD), manage behavioral health escalations and facilitate transitions of care as needed.
Work Hours : Monday‑Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m.
Location : Hybrid – 75 % virtual, 25 % community. Must reside in the Detroit, MI area.
Responsibilities
Provide behavioral health support to members in an in‑person and virtual setting.
Develop member care plans when behavioral health interventions are needed.
Provide clinical education to members on preventative care topics, including behavioral health and mental illness.
Make appropriate referrals for medical support, social resources, behavioral health and substance use disorder (SUD) to external and internal providers or internal care team.
Collaborate with internal care teams to assess and determine need for member escalation or placement in different programs (e.g., lower or higher intensity program).
Maintain engagement with high‑acuity members.
Qualifications
1 year post‑Master’s degree.
Must hold active state licensure as an LPC or LMSW (in good standing).
Benefits and Compensation Salary range : $71,000.00–$90,500.00 annual.
