What You’ll Do The Children’s DCS Stabilization Crisis Therapist provides direct in‑home, in‑office and community‑based clinical therapeutic services and education services to families, youth, and adults who are involved with the Child Protective Services system.
Essential Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive, direct psychotherapy services to families, youths and adults currently involved with CPS. This includes individual/family therapy, collaboration on treatment goals, clinical assessment, diagnosis, risk assessment, and therapeutic interventions.
Coordinate services with EMPACT‑SPC staff and other agencies, CPS, police, court and public agencies.
Deliver 40 hours of work per week; evening and weekend hours may be required.
Ensure quality service delivery and documentation: intake, diagnosis, treatment planning, risk planning, termination and interagency reporting.
Recommend improvements to the Clinical Coordinator or Program Manager and develop a specialized function for departmental services.
Assist in coordinating communication across departments for continuity of care.
Maintain a valid Arizona driver license, liability insurance and approval.
Provide special projects during on‑call shifts, mobile crisis assessment, intervention, and in‑home support throughout Maricopa and surrounding counties.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
Recommend and develop specialized functions; provide instruction and training for interns, contract staff and regular staff.
Attend meetings and trainings outside scheduled hours upon request.
Perform additional duties as assigned and maintain professional conduct.
Participate in administrative meetings, committees and quality management activities.
Assist with agency fundraising activities as requested.
What You’ll Provide
Master’s degree in marriage and family therapy, counseling, psychology, social work or related field.
Associate level licensure by AZBBHE preferred.
Experience working with children in the Department of Child Safety.
Knowledge of the RBHA children’s system preferred.
Experience with electronic health records systems.
Ability to remain calm in crisis, work independently and cooperatively.
Professional representation of the agency.
Problem‑solving at department and agency levels.
Capability to act as coordinator when needed.
Sensitivity to victims, empathy, non‑judgmental approach across demographics.
Valid Arizona driver’s license; bilingual Spanish a plus.
Minimum 21 years of age.
Additional Requirements and Responsibilities
Maintain professional conduct consistent with ethical practice.
Positive relationships with internal and external partners.
Attendance at meetings, training and agency events outside scheduled hours.
Maintain compliance with required training.
Provide a 3‑year state driving record with no major infractions.
