Per Diem Shifts Available (All shifts rotating weekends):

11:00 pm – 7:30 am (Shift Differential $2.00)
Summary Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) deliver care to inmate patients utilizing established nursing assessment protocols. LPNs collaborate with Registered Nurses to ensure effective patient care delivery and desired outcomes while maintaining professional nursing standards.
Corrections Nurses promote and improve the overall health of inmate patients through the nursing process, providing care for a wide range of health concerns due to limited prior access to healthcare.
Responsibilities & Duties
Perform assessments of inmate patients in various settings (initial intake, healthcare unit for sick, emergency situations, chronic care clinics, medical units).
Collaborate with primary and other healthcare providers to ensure continuity and appropriateness of care.
Coordinate and/or administer medication, therapeutic agents, and treatments.
Ensure Medical Record documentation is in SOAP format, problem‑oriented, timely, legible, and signed.
Promote a culture of safety for patients and employees.
Maintain competency and knowledge of current standards of practice and developments in the scope of practice.
Report reactions to treatments, medications, and changes in inmate condition.
Provide inmate patient education and/or discharge planning.
Record all care information concisely, accurately, and completely.
Promote a therapeutic environment and professional, ethical, and tactful treatment of inmates.
Perform other position‑related duties as assigned.
Adhere to professional standards, policies, federal, state, local requirements, NCCHC standards, and accrediting body standards.
Maintain an active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or CPR.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse program with current licensure in the state of employment.
Must meet security clearance standards of the institution where employed.
Functional Demands
Pass all required health and screening tests.
Be available to work nights, weekends, holidays, and on‑call duty.
Organizational Expectations

Maintain competency and knowledge of current practices and developments.
Adhere to infection control, medication administration, and controlled substance regulations.
Participate in ongoing quality improvement activities.
Complete required orientation as directed by facility.
Follow facility and OSHA safety rules and procedures.
Follow facility and CFG Health Systems occurrence protocol.
Uphold HIPAA and PREA regulations.
Be punctual and dependable for assigned shifts.
Maintain security clearance for the assigned facility.
Conform to dress code.
Report to work site at designated time.
Adhere to attendance policy and timekeeping expectations.
Physical Demands
Stand, walk, talk, or hear regularly.
Use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance.
Sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl occasionally.
Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Perform close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment as required.
