Mission Protection Systems Engineer
in
Las Cruces, NM
to provide Systems Engineering and Technical Advisory (SETA) services focused on protection of space systems. Responsibilities include the following: Provide technical expertise and advice on space protection and space situational awareness Oversee integration of space protection functions/capabilities of delivered systems to include providing analysis of schedules and capabilities delivered to best meet near and long-term operational needs Provide technical support in the development and execution of space protection exercises and refinement and optimization of system capabilities employment and Concepts of Operations. Provide technical support in the development of space protection training materials Analyze and provide recommendations to multiple government customers, providing key information, possible risks and impacts and potential improvements to government managers and other points of contact Qualifications
Required Skills: Must be a US Citizen Must possess active Top Secret/SCI clearance with current CI Poly Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM) or relevant field and nine (9) years or more experience; Master’s Degree in STEM or relevant field and seven (7) years or more experience Possess knowledge regarding satellite constellations, spacecraft orbit, and ground station characteristics Current knowledge of counter space threats Experience with rendezvous and proximity operations for developing scenarios and mitigations Experience with orbital mechanics and associated tools (i.e. System Toolkit (STK) or SOAP) RF knowledge expertise (basic understanding of RF principles), knowledge of GEOINT and SIGINT constellation and tasking process Experience with US Space Force space operations structure Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and deliverables Ability to work independently and/or with a team Must be able to operate effectively with teammates and customers (contractor, SETA, FFRDC, and Government) Ability to quickly craft briefings and talking points for the government with minimal guidance. Be able to Represent government and their interests in various forums. Self-starter, able to proactively address customer requirements with no supervision; expert at defining solutions for broad, abstract topics Must be a master at collaboration and coordination with multiple stakeholders -- consensus builder Must be a polished communicator (written/verbal) possessing impeccable interpersonal skills and personal judgment Desired Qualifications
Real-time operations experience as a spacecraft operator or vehicle engineer Familiar with MBSE/Digital Engineering, AGILE development, cloud technologies Overview
