Job Summary Location: Methodist Physicians Clinic – Elkhorn, NE 20021 Manderson St., Elkhorn, NE

Shift: Monday through Friday; hours vary between 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. and 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Clinical Responsibilities

Exam performance and quality: identify each patient by two identifiers and ensure patient understanding of pending procedure.

Provide comfort measures and engage patient to obtain optimal cooperation and positioning.

Correctly identify anatomical position with use of initialized lead markers.

Critique each exam for technical and positional accuracy and make appropriate corrections if necessary.

Perform exams as priority dictates.

Workflow Management

Manage department workflow with minimal assistance.

Review orders for clinical and demographic consistency and verify accuracy.

Assist physicians, patients, and coworkers during exams.

Seek opportunity to provide patient care or assist others as needed.

Support channeling of department direction and workflow.

Maintain awareness of ongoing exams and assist coworkers as needed.

Provide exam information and status updates to pertinent staff members.

Relieve coworkers from procedures/exams as necessary.

Be ready to work at shift start and set processes to allow leaving at shift end.

Software and Systems

Perform radiology reception duties: answer phones, schedule appointments, enter orders and reminder calls as needed.

Perform radiology medical record clerk duties as needed.

Maintain working knowledge of RIS/Cerner applications.

Use proper system applications for order modification, document comments and exposures/repeats.

Start and complete own exams correctly and in a timely manner.

Use online worklist to monitor orders and order status.

Articulate and/or demonstrate knowledge of systems, digital dictation system, PACS.

Identify and resolve image exceptions.

Provide memo comments as needed for study interpretation.

Policy and Procedures

Ensure proper patient identification on all study images to comply with department policies and procedures.

Show knowledge of department guidelines through responsible behavior/actions.

Report issues/concerns to supervisor as soon as possible and assist with resolution/follow-up.

Leadership and Enrichment

Provide and monitor "on the job training" per Methodist College Standards.

Maintain professional and courteous relationship with students and instructors.

Provide leadership and guidance for students' education clinical experience.

Confidentiality

Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA.

Maintain student/co-worker confidentiality in accordance with FERPA.

Provide appropriate age‑specific care to ensure patient understanding and comfort level of treatment as outlined in "Age Specific Criteria."

Successfully complete annual Age Specific Competency Quiz.

Frequent (67‑100%): biological agents (primary airborne & bloodborne viruses) (jobs with patient contact) (BBF); equipment/machinery/tools; radiation alpha, beta and gamma (particles such as X‑ray, Cat Scan, Gamma Knife, etc); radiation non‑ionizing (ultraviolet, visible light, infrared and microwaves that causes injuries to tissue or thermal or photochemical means); mechanical moving parts/vibrations.
