The Opportunity ConvenientMD is seeking a dedicated Paramedic or AEMT, who is a nationally registered EMT to join our team as an Urgent Care Technician . As a vital clinical team member, you will play an integral role in providing high-quality care to our patients, working alongside medical providers, and contributing to a supportive, collaborative environment. Your Impact
Patient Care & Triage : Conduct comprehensive patient triage by taking vital signs, documenting medical history, and performing observational examinations to identify immediate healthcare needs.
Assist with patient exams, ensuring all necessary equipment and documentation are prepared, while supporting providers during testing and procedures.
Clinical Procedures
Perform diagnostic and testing procedures, including vision, hearing, drug screens, breath alcohol testing, spirometry, and more.
Execute point-of-care testing such as strep, flu, RSV, SARS-CoV-2, glucose, lipid panel, and urinalysis.
Provide cardiac and airway management, including ECGs, AED use, nebulizer treatments, and oxygen administration.
Deliver wound care assessments, immunizations, and medication administration per federal and state regulations.
Patient Engagement & Documentation : Assist with patient inquiries, communicate test results, and explain medication or therapy plans.
Maintain accurate electronic medical records, documenting patient histories and treatment details.
Observe and report changes in patients’ conditions, taking necessary action as needed.
Clinic Operations
Ensure medical instruments and equipment are clean, sterilized, and maintained per organizational policies.
Maintain a stocked and sterile workspace, supporting smooth clinic operations.
Collaboration with Clinical Team : Work closely with other members of the clinical team to ensure seamless coordination of patient care.
Communicate effectively and efficiently with providers and other healthcare professionals to relay patient information and updates.
Welcome and support the training of new team clinic team members.
Required Availability
Must be able to work12-hour shifts in consecutive and or non-consecutive days:
For full-time: Must be able to work three (3) 12-hour shifts a week with at leastfour (4)shifts a month on a Saturday or Sunday.
For part-time: Must be able to worktwo(2) 12-hour shifts per week with at least two (2) shifts a month on a Saturday or Sunday.
For per diem: Must be able to workfour(4)12-hour shiftsper month, ideally working one (1) shift each week.
Flexibility to work nights, weekends,holidays.
If needed, mustbe able to work at a minimum of three (3) otherConvenientMDlocations within a one (1) hour travel distance from your primary clinic.
Required to travel for training shifts which may occur outside of your primary clinic within a one (1) hour commute.
Who You Are
Education:
High school diploma or GED required .
Certification and demonstrated prior experience:
Licensed paramedic (preferably nationally certified) with prior experience placing and monitoring IVs .
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification:
American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification. We do not accept CPR, ACLS certifications, or online only classes.
