Job Description SAIC is seeking a
Model Based Systems Engineer , specialized in Systems of Systems (SoS) Architectures, in
El Segundo, CA , to provide systems engineering, mission architecting and analysis support to the Space Systems Command within the Space Combat Power and Battle Management, Command, Control, Communication and Space Intelligence System Deltas. These System Deltas oversee the planning, development, testing, deployment, integration, and sustainment of a portfolio that consist of Space Control capabilities. The position supports the architecting of the Space Control enterprise that consists of counter space operations such as Orbital and Spectrum Warfare.
Responsibilities:
Provide leadership advice on mission engineering strategies for SoS architectures and strategic messaging to key operational and government stakeholders
Provide systems engineering and mission architecting support
Technical requirements generation/review/compliance, space systems technical review and assessment, and risk assessment
Identify activities and functions critical to mission thread development, deriving and modeling the as-is and to-be functional and physical architectures
Provide program and technical insight to the modeling and analysis staff regarding system architecture designs, interfaces, schedule, and assumptions
Drive integration and utilization of Digital Engineering practices of Model-Based Systems Engineering and Modeling, Simulation, & Analysis to include the conversion of legacy Systems Engineering content into digital formats
Qualifications
This is you:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering or a relevant discipline with 9+ years of experience with:
Systems engineering and architecting for major systems acquisitions
Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methods and descriptive modeling frameworks such as SysML
Cameo Systems Architect or Sparx Enterprise Architect
DoDAF views on system of system architectures and plans
Must have an in-scope security background investigation (T5), adjudicated for SCI eligibility and enrolled in the Continuous Evaluation program (as applicable)
Must be willing to be nominated for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information and, or Special Access Programs and consent to a Polygraph examination
You will wow us even more if you have these skills:
Master’s Degree, 7+ years of relevant experience is preferred
Fluency in Department of War architectural frameworks (e.g., DoDAF)
Military Space Operations with an emphasis in Space Domain Awareness programs and capabilities
Experience working in development environment and, or U.S. Government weapons system program office
Led the integration of MBSE with Modeling and Simulation leading to a validated and verified system architecture
Professional certification (e.g., Professional Engineer, INCOSE CSEP, etc.)
Knowledge of Digital Engineering and operational analysis processes and tools, as well as their application in producing data-driven analysis results
Target salary range: $160,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
