Bellevue is an academic medical institution of international renown and a Level I Trauma Center delivering comprehensive inpatient and outpatient state‑of‑the‑art care. Duties & Responsibilities
Provides continuous comprehensive medical and nursing care, including preventive and supportive health care services to patients and families. Manages health problems and coordinates health care for various patient populations, identifying and diagnosing illnesses and physical conditions and implementing therapeutic and corrective measures. Develops and maintains partnerships with community‑based organizations and makes referrals to consulting physicians and other health care professionals and community agencies, as necessary. Consults with physicians and other health care practitioners in the evaluation of health screening findings to formulate differential diagnosis and the plan of care based on medical history, physical exams, nursing assessment and other pertinent information. Orders, conducts, and interprets diagnostic and laboratory tests and identifies and prescribes appropriate pharmacological and non‑pharmacological interventions and therapies. Provides education, counseling and guidance to patients and families regarding health status, treatment and progress, medication management, disease prevention and health promotion. Performs other related duties as directed. Minimum Qualifications
A valid New York State license and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse issued by the New York State Department of Education (NYSED). Current certificate as a Nurse Practitioner issued by the NYSED. A valid and current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA). Department Preferences
National Board Certification in Cardiovascular or Acute Nurse Practitioner (NP) certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Two clinical years experience as Cardiology or Acute Nurse Practitioner (NP). Experience managing cardiac critical care conditions such as cardiogenic shock, ACS, cardiac arrest and others.
