Job Purpose & Summary

Our District Support Pharmacists (DSPs) play a critical role in cultivating a culture of excellence within each pharmacy by acting as a role model.

As a DSP, you will cover pharmacist scheduling gaps, support pharmacy teams across the district, oversee smooth pharmacy operations, and consistently demonstrate genuine, authentic care for patients. Responsibilities

Help manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices. Travel the district to fill pharmacist shifts as scheduled by the District Performance Coordinator; serve as the Pharmacy Manager’s proxy during bench shifts. Support accurate prescription fulfillment by guiding the pharmacy team through workflow procedures and safety guardrails. Assume day‑to‑day duties of the Pharmacy Manager when the only or primary pharmacist‑on‑duty. Enhance patient experience by showing empathy, coaching team members, and resolving insurance or medication issues. Proactively offer & deliver immunizations and support Pharmacy Technicians in learning to immunize. Manage pharmacy inventory, especially cold‑chain products, by following best practices. Maintain flexibility for scheduling & business needs while fostering an inclusive, engaging team dynamic. Keep clinical and technical skills current through required trainings, CMEs, and self‑development. Deliver pharmacist‑led clinical care (e.g., COVID/Flu, Hormonal Contraception) and empower the pharmacy team to provide holistic care. Comply with all federal & state laws, professional standards, ethical principles, and CVS Health policies, ensuring patient safety, controlled substance recordkeeping, and privacy protection. Required Qualifications

Active Pharmacist License in the state where the store is located. Active National Provider Identifier (NPI). Not listed on the DEA Excluded Parties list. Essential Functions

Travel within a reasonable radius to support market staffing as needed. Maintain regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends. Complete required training within designated timeframes. Focus & attention to detail—concentrate on tasks, pivot quickly, ensure prescription and label accuracy. Provide customer service and team orientation—actively help people, understand patient reactions, respond appropriately. Communicate effectively—use verbal and written communication, active listening, and clear instructions. Apply mathematical reasoning—calculate dosages, supplies, and inventory quantities. Resolve problems—identify challenging interactions and select optimal solutions. Physical demands—remain mobile, lift up to 20 lbs, maintain visual acuity, and perform repetitive tasks. Perform any additional tasks directed by supervisor or manager. Preferred Qualifications

1‑2 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting. CVS Health is an equal opportunity employer.
