Job Summary & Qualifications The Respiratory Therapist coordinates and delivers high‑quality, patient‑centered respiratory care in accordance with state practice standards. Responsibilities include performing diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures, monitoring invasive and non‑invasive mechanical ventilation, and ensuring patient safety.
Responsibilities
Perform and document patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate respiratory therapy needs and responses.
Administer respiratory therapy including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication, and chest physiotherapy.
Assist with placement of artificial airways and maintain mechanical ventilation.
Monitor patients for therapeutic response and intervene as appropriate.
Assist with transportation of ventilator‑dependent patients.
Respond to emergent patient situations, ensuring airway integrity during resuscitation.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program; Bachelor of Science strongly preferred.
Valid Kansas license and registration with the NBRC.
BLS certification required upon hire; ACLS and Neonate Resuscitation required within 6 months.
Preferred one year of critical care experience.
Location Menorah Medical Center – Overland Park and Leawood, Kansas – 190‑bed acute care hospital and ER.
