WHKS is looking for detailed and technically-oriented individuals who are passionate about contributing fresh perspectives and creative ideas. As an entry-level civil engineer, you will work closely with a team of engineers to play a vital role in the design of municipal, transportation, and other infrastructure projects.
Salary Range: $65,000-$85,000 annually
Responsibilities include:
Municipal utility and roadway design, site design, quantity estimates, and other engineering support functions
Design and prepare roadway construction drawings, typical/cross sections, erosion and sediment control plans, maintenance of traffic plans, stormwater management, drainage design, signing and pavement marking plans, and right-of-way plans
Perform other design-related tasks, such as quantity and geometric calculations, grading plans, and roadway, utility and subdivision layout
Develop 3-D models using Bentley CONNECT or Civil 3D software
Provide oversight of CADD technicians to verify work is done properly and accurately
Perform construction observation which may include:
Conducting field-required concrete or asphalt testing
Preparing and documenting material reports, test results and material sources
Maintaining daily inspection logs and addressing discrepancies with appropriate parties
Preparing and reviewing pay reports
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
E.I. certification or ability to take the F.E. exam within 6 months
0-5 years of experience in municipal or transportation design
Valid driver’s license
Excellent computer and communication skills
Experience with Autocad Civil 3D and/or Bentley CONNECT
