**Summary:**
In this vital role, your expertise as a **Diesel Technician** will keep customer vehicles, trucks, and commercial fleet operating smoothly, supporting our operational excellence.* Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspensions, air brake systems, and other heavy equipment components using schematics and automotive diagnostics tools.* Conduct repairs and maintenance for a variety of diesel engines and heavy-duty vehicles.* Maintain and repair vehicle systems including shocks & struts, HVAC systems, tires, brakes, alignments, and powertrain components to ensure safety and reliability.* Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other specialized tools to complete repairs efficiently while adhering to safety standards.* Interpret technical schematics and manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues accurately.* Perform preventive maintenance routines to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of vehicles.* Assist with heavy lifting tasks using appropriate equipment while following safety protocols.* Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair status clearly and offering recommendations for ongoing maintenance needs.* Keep detailed records of all repairs performed for compliance and future reference.**Essential Duties and Responsibilities** **include the following:*** Examines customer vehicles.* Identifies necessary vehicle repairs and maintenance.* Estimates cost of repairs.* Performs vehicle repairs and maintenance.* Documents services performed.* Performs services efficiently and according to dealership guidelines.* Follows dealership and manufacturer service guidelines.* Requests necessary parts.* Effectively utilizes available technologies to enhance customer experience.* Maintains CSI at or above Company standards* Maintains an organized, clean and safe work area* Participates in required training* Records all hours worked accurately in company timekeeping system* Follows Safeguards rules and regulations.* Demonstrates the Company’s Core Values* Complies with Company policies and procedures* Observes all Federal, State, Local and Company safety rules and regulations in the performance of duties.* Other duties as assignedHendrick Automotive Group believes that its people are its most important assets.
